Blue Diesel Rebrand Concept

The fine folks at Blue Diesel and I have been working on rebranding our company for the past couple of months, and although I cannot release the final initiative that was chosen, I thought I would share one of the intial concepts that I helped work on prior to it being eliminated. A few of my team members came up with the idea of “Creating Your Now” and I was asked to create a moodboard and two sets of tactics to help illustrate to our management team how this concept could potentially look, if it were chosen.

As a quick little bit of background information, the idea of “Creating Your Now” is based around a precise moment that is always happening. It looks to remove the notion of what you’ve done in the past and it helps you to not get caught up in what will take place in the future. It is all about making the most out of this exact moment in time.

The following are examples of tactics that could be used for this type of branding effort.

Some of the print tactics that I designed were new business cards, an advertisment that would go into the MedAd news, and a commemorative, old-fashioned alarm clock where the second hand would have a 'NOW' tag on it to indicate that very moment in time is what matters. (Click to enlarge)

For the digital tactics, I carried over elements of the moodboard and the MedAd News advertisement to create desktop backgrounds and I designed custom iPad and iPhone apps that would allow clients to edit the content that we provide for them on the fly. (Click to enlarge)
